Teacher Punished For Making Students Run Laps

Quote

Some parents at a Sacramento County elementary school are accusing a gym teacher of pushing students too far.

Students at Robla Elementary School said teacher Francis Norsworthy told them to run a lap while she timed them.

Each fifth-grader had to finish the lap in two minutes. If one person was too slow, they all had to run again.

The students ended up having to run eight laps, officials said. When the students were done, some got sick.

Paramedics were called to the campus to help a student who had asthma.

I agree. However, I do see where  she was coming from. We are a nation out of shape. She was only trying to instill good excercise practices. But, a terrible way I will admit. :)
