The fire broke out at her father's home on Carolinda Drive in Granite Bay just after 6:30 p.m.
Summer Sanders had just arrived in town to visit with her family. They were at the Roseville Aquatics Complex when the fire broke out.
"When my daughter was getting the call, I thought it was my son's home that was on fire and all the grandkids were over there so I was really concerned. And then Summer told me it was my house," Bob Sanders said.
Flames engulfed the multi-million-dollar estate and it burned to the ground.
The family was thankful that no one was hurt and the pets were saved, but precious heirlooms were lost.
"How are you going to ever replace trophies and medals of your children's accomplishments?" Bob Sanders said.
