Teacher Arrested on Charges of Sexual Misconduct with Teens

Quote

SACRAMENTO, CA - A 54-year-old teacher employed by Sacramento County's San Juan Unified School District was booked into jail Wednesday on 17 misdemeanor charges of child annoyance and sexual battery.

Gregory Jackson Rayburn was taken into custody by Sacramento County sheriff's investigators at his Grass Valley home Wednesday morning. Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Tim Curran says Rayburn's alleged victims are two 17-year-old and two 16-year-old girls at Rio Americano High School where he taught social studies during the 2006-2007 school year.

The school district says Rayburn has been on paid leave since December 2007. The sheriff's department investigation into Rayburn began December 10 when one of the victims filed a report with authorities.

I just do not understand how teachers can do this. It is wrong and sick and perverted. And I do not agree with the paid leave. You should not be paid for your time off. And if you are convicted of this , then you should have to repay each and every dime back from the paid leave!
