Two unlikely suspects, a 63-year-old woman and her 36-year-old daughter, have been arrested for a vandalism spree in a Rocklin neighborhood last month that left the vehicles of more than a dozen residents with slashed tires and splashed with spray paint.
Carolyn Gail Blair, 63, and her daughter, Brigett Rochelle Moore, 36, both of El Dorado County, were booked into the Placer County Jail on 23 counts of felony vandalism charges and a conspiracy charge. Police say the two allegedly damaging more than 26 vehicles sometime during the night of May 28-29, 2008, according to Rocklin Police.
Revenge was apparently Blair and Moore's motivation, say investigators. They say Blair had recently lost a court battle with her ex-husband who lived on the street and whose vehicle was damaged in the spree. Damage to the other vehicles and one motorcycle was done to cover their tracks, say police.
A resident of the area says they heard the sound of the suspects on the night the crimes took place and got up to take a look. The next day, they called police and gave them a description of the suspect's vehicle.
Damage is estimated at $24,000.
Bail for the suspects has not been set.
