Apparently the CEO of Whole Foods is a opponent of health care reform... and a total douche.

Whole Foods comes out against health care reform, calls it "socialism"

John Mackey's (CEO of Whole Foods) opinion piece in Wall St. Journal:

He is not against health reform, he posited an example of how his company gives great health care to his employees, who are BTW very happy with it. Now how can he be opposed to health care reform if he is urging folks CHANGE OVER to a better idea, which he has already put in place. I know of so many who are going in droves to Whole Foods now, new customers, because they had no idea and totally support what he is doing. However, those people out there against him, are those who don't like the idea that his health care reform ALSO means a person has to take responsibility for their own health... these are people who don't like being told what to do, when it means they have to choose being self-responsible, and are in the final analysis, the only ones who are against his idea of health care. And he also says, his is not the only one that is proven to work, but can be one of many. Those who rose up against this sensible man are playing a very dangerous dis- and misinformation game.

With 10 billion people on the planet, it's time people took responsibility for everything they do. It's like there is a glut of people, and a famine of common sense. My personal opinion is there are too many people on the planet, and the entire problem will resolve itself pretty soon. Over-population gets one generation to get it right, and government funded "adult-nursery" programs are not that solution. I will be around in 2050, taking responsibility for my own being, but about 6 billion other humans who rely on bailouts for everything ... won't. It never has...

when i lived in nebraska, i shopped at whole foods and the local 'health food' store for much of my needs and wants. the simple reason was that those stores supplied what i wanted at the time. simple market force. here, in montana, i still will stop by the local store because the owner will stock some things that i have asked her to order for me and that she has found has a larger market than just me. again, simple market force.

i don't stop shopping at a business just because the management contains or is composed of idiots. i stop shopping when there is not anything i want to buy there.

Sometimes I buy food from the people who make the products whom I trust that I am sure I get not just nutritious and delicious foods but the whole perspective why they are into the food industry.
