Does anyone know where there are really good ice cream, nice and thick, yummy, creamy milk shakes for sale? The fast food places don't have a clue what I'm talking about. The last really good milk shake I had was at an out of business joint called Grouchy's. Anyone remember that thing? Oh, man, were those shakes good. If you know of any place in East Sac or even the Country Club or Mission areas -- just anywhere in the vicinity -- let me know.

What about the ice cream places like Leatherby's, Baskin Robbins, Cold Stone, Dairy Queen, etc.?

Dairy Queen is okay, but they don't have that 'yum' that I'm after. I don't even know where a Cold Stone is. Hmmm -- not sure about Baskins. They have one not too far away, so maybe I'll have to check them out. Leatherby's is good, but they aren't convenient. I sure do miss Grouchy's. It's only been about 2 decades that they've been out of business. :}

When I was a kid I worked at Gunthers. The ice cream parlor is exactly the same today. It's a place truly caught in time. Gunthers makes all their ice cream on site in the wee hours of the morning. It's rich, tasty flavor is due in part to the high butterfat percentage. The recipes are also creative and fresh. Good Luck on your quest!

Thanks. It's all about finding some place that is convenient. I remember Gunther's. I went there once on a very special occasion.
