What do you think about this? Honestly, I disagree. It's not like he's walking around campus with the flag; it's the same to me as having a bumper sticker on your car. The line they are drawing is just so wrong.

IMO, the school has a policy and has to enforce it fairly.

They reversed it and are now talking red white and blue, so the policy went out the door. I was very proud to hear of the response, which was even an international one!

I did think it was like having a flag bumper sticker, which would be ridiculous to ban, but didn't this stem from the racially motivated faux patriotism on cinco de mayo?

It did come from some campus Cinco de Mayo thing, but I'm not sure that they didn't overreact then. You know, we need tolerance. Banning patriotism, of whatever country, is not teaching tolerance. In fact, it does the opposite.

I think I saw on the news (busy getting ready) this morning that there was going to be a big escort to school for the kid and a flyover with planes from Beale. I'm glad he gets to fly his flag but isn't that a bit much?

He agrees! He just wants to be a kid again; he's tired of the attention, which I think is awesome. It proves how down to earth he is.
