If anyone, or if you know of anyone who is in need of employment.....

Target and Walmart are hiring locally. Immediately. You can apply online, and usually they both have an employment kiosk in the store.

We just had a heads up that applicants are getting immediate interviews and offers.

Starting pay is minimum and... They both do drug testing, they won't accept medical marijuana cards.... but, the seasonal can work into regular work.

Just a Heads Up...

I appreciate the job tip. I'm sure many of us would appreciate learning of any reputable job tips considering the unemployment rate is still so high.

IANAL (or Dr.), but you should be protected by HIPAA, but if they test you they can not hire or fire you for any our no reason. CA is an at will employment state.

About the Medical Marijuana Card. I have had to do some learning on this subject, so that is why I clarified the card. The drug tests given by the potential employers are testing for, amongst other substances, marijuana, which is illegal by federal law.

So if one has a medical marijuana card, they can legally purchase and use it within the state, however, it is up to the employer to determine if a postive for THC in a medical marijuana patient will disqualify them for employment (because it is not an illegal substance for a card carrier in this state). Of course, it would be up to the person to disclose that, but, if you know you are gonna turn up positive.....

Believe it or not, here in California some employers do take the card into consideration. But, for this post...
