Sacramento, CA – Hostelling International’s Sacramento Hostel will offer a free travel education workshop specifically designed for solo woman travelers on Monday, November 14, from 6:30 - 8:oo p.m. The workshop is open to women of all ages who are planning to travel by themselves for the first time and want smart tips on traveling safely and autonomously.
Traveling can be a daunting experience — new countries, foreign languages, and different cultural norms can overwhelm any traveler, and being prepared for a trip means more than just packing a toothbrush. Preparing to travel solo, especially as a woman, is an even bigger task. What to bring, where to stay, and most importantly, how to add more value and independence to the solo travel experience, are all very important questions.
The workshop will be delivered by two local women with extensive experience traveling solo, in hopes that their advice will enable and empower other women to travel the world with an open mind, cultural awareness, and environmental stewardship. These solo female travelers have trekked through Asia, Europe, and North America and can offer a plethora of firsthand knowledge as well as tried-and-true tips for researching a destination, budgeting, packing light, and saving money.
