According to reports from Marca, Barcelona supporters mistakenly threw stones at their own team’s bus ahead of the 35th round La Liga clash against Real Madrid on Sunday, May 10. The incident occurred near Camp Nou as thick smoke from flares and pyrotechnics made it impossible for fans to distinguish between the two sides’ vehicles.
Believing the Barcelona bus belonged to their arch-rivals, the crowd pelted it with rocks and bottles, shattering several windows. Shortly after, the Real Madrid bus also came under attack from the same fans, with one side window completely smashed.
Despite the chaotic buildup, Barcelona took a 2-0 lead into halftime, with goals from Marcus Rashford (9th minute) and Ferran Torres (18th minute, assisted by Dani Olmo). A win or draw in this match would secure the Catalans the La Liga title ahead of schedule.
