The Oklahoma Sooners have assembled an impressive 2027 recruiting class, with running back Keldrid Ben standing out as one of its top talents.

Oklahoma currently boasts the best 2027 recruiting class and is expected to add three or four more commitments in the coming months. However, some fans may feel uneasy about one recruit who remains committed to the Sooners but continues to take visits elsewhere.

Four-star running back Keldrid Ben has been committed for a long time and was among the first to pledge to the class. Oklahoma highly values him, and he holds deep affection for the program. Still, he is visiting other schools, speaking with other coaches, and facing intense recruiting pressure that could raise eyebrows. But according to Ben, his exploratory visits are nothing for fans to worry about.

“[Things have] been great. God has been blessing me in many ways. [I’m just trying to keep my head on my shoulders, keep my head straight, maintain my grades, and just work,” Ben told Sooner Scoop. “[The visits] are just me taking another look at a school. I don’t see it as me decommitting or anything like that. I see it as me exploring other schools and taking those visits because I only get one chance.

“There’s nothing I really want to see [at Florida or Oregon]. I just want to see them being themselves. They’re showing me how they can make me a better man on and off the field. Providing for my family and me and being the best I can be at all times.”

Ben is reassuring everyone that there is no cause for concern. He has taken six visits since November 29, 2025, including three to Oklahoma, two to Florida, and one to Oregon. The only potential worry is that Ben has another visit scheduled with Florida in the near future.

He continues to tell Sooners fans exactly what they want to hear. “I just let them know what’s going on. No lies, no nothing. Just a man-to-man conversation. They tell me how they feel about it, and I just have to accept it. I know where my home is at the end of the day,” Ben said.

Ben is currently a four-star recruit with the potential to be upgraded to a five-star. Other programs will continue to pursue him. The Sooners simply need to maintain their current approach.
